PHS sidelines Bobcats 61-47 Thursday night

Two double-figure shooters made a big difference in the outcome of last Thursday’s Pleasanton vs South Loup basketball game at Callaway.
Caleb Pritchard’s premiere night on the court led to 25 points, eight rebounds and eight steals as the Pleasanton Bulldogs sailed past host South Loup 61-47.
Pleasanton started with a 12-9 lead in the first quarter with Pritchard accounting for half of those points on field goals. Field goals by Kaden Zwiener and Colin Janitscheck, plus a pair of free throws by Austin Paitz made up the rest of the Bulldogs’ points.
With good support from his teammates, Pritchard took care of the Bulldog scoring in the second period with six field goals and one trey as Pleasanton led 27-18 at halftime.

Trojans down Arcadia Huskies 54-46 Friday

Another win went into the books for the Litchfield-Ansley Trojans last Friday night as the Trojans took a 54-46 win from the Arcadia Huskies at Arcadia.
Litchfield gained point advantages in three of the four quarters starting with an 11-8 margin in the first period. Brody Focken and Mike Heapy started with four points and Nolan Kratzer nailed his first of five treys in the game as the Trojans forged in front.
Kratzer’s hot hand sank three more treys in the second period. Sam Reynolds hit a field goal and added two free shots to his credit. Heapy was good for another field goal and a free shot and Taylor Monks connected for a field goal as the Trojans held a 29-23 lead at halftime.

Trojans bomb Bluejays 42-20

Editor’s Note - Elba/North Loup-Scotia are playing basketball as a cooperative team this season. The girls team is using the Wildcat mascot and the boys team is using the
Bluejay mascot.

Led by Nolan Kratzer’s 18 points, the Litchfield Trojans hit the Elba/North Loup-Scotia Bluejays with a 42-20 loss last Tuesday night at Litchfield.
In reviewing the game Litchfield coach Dan Bolling used every player suited up for the Trojans in this game.
Three field goals for six points by Brody Focken topped the Trojans cause in the first period.
Kratzer and Michael Heapy accounted for the Trojans second period points. Kratzer hit a pair of treys and two free throws in the effort..

Twin Loup nips Litchfield

The Twin Loup Wolves took a 36-29 decision from the Litchfield Trojans Monday night at Callaway. This game was part of the first round of Loup Valley Conference boys basketball play.
Twin Loup took the lead with a pair of treys by Ryan Mosier and field goals by Guy Fenske and Jack Gibbens.
A pair of field goals by Kaleb Sekutera and charity shots by Brody Focken accounted for Litchfield’s six points.
Sekutera’s two field goals and Sam Reynolds’ free throw were the Trojans’ second quarter points.
