Zoerb leads Ravenna Cross Country at State Meet Friday

On simply a perfect day weather-wise for the State Cross Country Meet, Ravenna senior Jacie Zoerb led her team to a ninth place finish. The meet was held in Kearney last Friday for all four classes of the Nebraska high school sport in both boys and girls classifications.
Running in Class D, Zoerb finished the 2.5 mile course in 18th place with a time of 16:19.6. Sophomore Shania McCormick followed in 45th place in 17:31.2. In 79th place came Emily Deines with a time of 18:38.8. Kassie Schirmer was 91st in 19:15.2. Amy Johnson finished in the 118th spot with a time of 22:03.0
The winner of Class D was Marissa Dewispelare of Aquinas Catholic over three-time reigning champion, Andrea Weeder of Lindsay Holy Family in the closest finish of the day in 15:23.8. The team champion was Crofton..

The Ravenna boys were represented by Brandon Kusek, who finished in 75th place with a time of 19:40.9 in the 3.1 mile course. Mark Chramosta also qualified for State but did not run due to a previous commitment for the Ravenna FFA.
