A highly regarded Ansley Lady Warrior volleyball team swept the D2-8 Subdistrict finals from the Litchfield Lady Trojans last Tuesday night at Elm Creek.
The morning after, Ansley (28-1) was rated Number 3 in the NSAA power ratings and will play Giltner (19-7) in the District final later in the week.

Litchfield has shown steady improvement this season coming from a season record of 6-21 last year and improving to 20-9 this season under coach Jessica
Gibbons and assistant coach Skylar Rohde.
Ironically Ansley coach Pat Hoblyn was the coach for both Litchfield coaches in high school.
The Trojans played Ansley tough for most of the match but the Warriors were just too much at this time of the season.
Kayla Reynolds, Kate Sweley and Falicia Shepardson led the service points for Litchfield with three each in the match.

Lady Trojans and Bulldogs win matches at Pleasanton

In action against SEM, Pleasanton's Kayla Linden, center, flanked by teammates Kelli Bauer, left, and Alyssa Stubbs, keeps the ball in play for their 2-1 win.

Lady Trojan Taylor Pickar goes up for the kill in the 2-0 victory over SEM. Kate Sweley (21) and Kaitlin Kratzer prepare to assist.

In their opening match of the night the Pleasanton girls met the Ansley Lady Warriors. Alyssa Stubbs had four digs for the Lady Bulldogs followed by Kelli Bauer with three digs and Kara Dauel with two digs.
Pleasanton coach Kaylie Randall said, “Ansley is as solid of a team as we have seen all year. We made too many serve receive mistakes and against a team like Ansley you can’t make any mistakes.”
A bit of area volleyball history here, Ansley is coached by veteran coach Pat Hoblyn and with a 24-1 season record is rated as one of the top D2 teams in Nebraska this year.
