RHS eighth at Adams Central

Ravenna head coach Dom Reicks was still without the services of two point gathering seniors at last Friday’s Adams Central Invitational.Michael Steele and Storm Rathe-Hoffman hope to return this week from injuries that have kept them sidelined the past two weeks. However, his other two seniors brought home medals. Third rated in the state at 182 lbs, Ethan Schambach captured another gold medal by going 3-0. Colby Ackley, 120 lbs, was the other medal winner, going 2-2 for a fourth place medal.
As a team, Ravenna finished in eighth place with 44.50 points. Meet host Adams Central used their depth to take top honors with 166 points, but no gold medalists. Holdrege was second with 135.50 points and boasted two champs. Centennial placed third but had four champions. South Central and St. Paul both crowned three.

Pleasanton wrestlers earn fourth at Arapahoe Invite

Pleasanton's Aaron Winberg is tying up with one of his foes at the Arapahoe Invite. Winberg pinned all four of his opponents last Saturday for the 145 lb championship at the meet.Pleasanton's Armando Tapia (above right) is seen in first round action in the 160 lb weight class. For their first time entry in the Arapahoe Invitational Wrestling tournament, the Pleasanton Bulldogs under coach Dana Fisher came away with fourth place in the 12 team meet last Saturday.
Early in the year, the annual Pleasanton Invitational was cancelled and Arapahoe Athletic director John Paulsen extended an invitation to participate in Arapahoe’s meet to the Bulldog team and coach Fisher was glad to accept.
A tough group of Eustis-Farnam Knights edged host Arapahoe by 14 points for the team title. The round robin slate of events was used to score this year’s tournament.
